Terms and Conditions

Your Stittsville Snow Removal Service Agreement

We're excited to provide you with a worry-free winter! To ensure a smooth season, please review our service terms below.


1. Service Details & Contract Duration

Our standard service runs from November 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026. We'll be there to clear your driveway every time 5 cm or more of snow has accumulated within a 48-hour period. There is no limit on the number of snow events—we've got you covered all season long.

Our team is automatically dispatched for all qualifying snowfalls, ensuring you receive timely service without ever having to call us but you can always get back to us for any emergency services or concerns. Please note that during major snowfalls of 25 cm or more, our standard service timelines may be delayed.

2. Payment Terms

We understand that life gets busy, and our goal is to make this process as easy as possible. Your service is guaranteed once we receive both of your payments by their respective due dates.

  • First Payment: This payment is half of the full contract fee (standard service fee without any discounts). It is due between September 1st and December 31st, depending on when you subscribe. Your service will begin after this payment is received.
  • Second Payment: The final payment is due by January 1, 2026. This covers the rest of your fees after any applicable discounts are applied.

If a payment is late, we will send a reminder. Failure to pay on time will result in a pause of your service. To restart it, a $25 administrative fee will be applied.


3. Preparing Your Property for Service

For the safety of our team and your property, please ensure your driveway is clear of all obstructions before each snowfall. You are responsible for taking care of the following on and around the driveway:

  • Vehicles, garbage/recycling bins, mats, cords, and downspouts.
  • Basketball nets or any other items that might block our equipment.
  • Overhanging branches must be trimmed to provide at least 9 feet of vertical clearance.
  • Clear snow ‘1-2 feet’ adjacent to retaining walls, garage doors, steps, fences, etc. unless you have subscribed for our shovelling services.
  • Hidden objects like raised water valves, planters, decorative stones, or steps along the driveway edge must be marked with stakes or poles. Steps protruding into driveway can be marked with a flowerpot or bucket and a stick.  While we may install markers, we are not responsible for damage to unmarked or hidden items. (note: City of Ottawa typically offers free service to push down raised water shut-off valve)
  • You must provide enough space for us to safely blow snow. If we can't blow the snow away and you can’t resolve the issue in timely manner, we'll have to skip your house and continue servicing next customer. We will come back to clear your driveway after end of the regular route. Please make sure any cars or other obstructions are cleared by then.

4. Property Damage

We work hard to protect your property, but in the rare case of damage, our team will address it as part of our commitment to you. Any damage must be reported to us before March 31, 2026. We will repair the damage as quickly as possible, but please note that we cannot guarantee an exact material or color match. You must provide us ‘manufacturer details’ if needed. Also, repaired items may not fully match the original condition.  


5. City Plow Debris

We will clear snow left by the city's road plows promptly. We do not clear sidewalk plow debris as a standard service; however, if it coincides with a road plow clearing, we will take care of it as well.


6. Important Disclaimers

Please be aware of the following:

  • While we take every precaution for safety, Stittsville Snow Removals is not liable for personal injury on your property. We kindly ask that no one approaches our equipment during operation. In case of an incident, you must have appropriate insurance coverage.
  • We are not responsible for surface scratches, rust marks, or damage to L-shaped downspouts, electrical cords, or items hidden under the snow.
  • We cannot remove ice buildup and not responsible for damage to plants, shrubs, stationary objects or trees in snow-blowing zones.
  • We are not responsible for decorative stones thrown into lawns from snow clearing.

7. Optional Hand-Shoveling Service

For an extra $150 for the entire season, you can add our hand-shoveling service to your contract. This optional add-on includes the clearing of your front door, steps, porch, and the precise space in front of your garage door that our machine cannot reach, providing a completely clear path for you and your family to get to cleared driveway.


8. Service Cancellation

If you decide to cancel your service before any snowfall, a minimum fee of $150 will apply. This fee covers administrative costs such as booking, record keeping, making routes, and maintaining your customer profile, along with pre-season preparation efforts like installing snow stakes at your driveway.


9. Snow Markers

We will install snow markers as a complimentary part of your service to help guide our operators safely and will collect markers post-season. If a marker is lost or thrown out, a $20 replacement fee will be charged.


10. After-Season Support

In the event of a snowstorm after March 31 with an accumulation of 5 cm or more, you may contact us for service via call/text at +1 613 879 0012 or email at info@stittsnow.ca. Whether the service is complimentary or requires a fee per event will be decided by the company at that time, depending on factors such as how far into April the event occurs and the total snowfall. This decision will be announced on our website (stittsnow.ca) and by email. For paid service, the clearing fee per customer per event will not exceed $25. You can then decide and notify us if you wish to proceed.


11. Emergency Service

For customers under contract, we offer an on-demand emergency service for urgent situations. If you're blocked in by snow and need to leave your home immediately, you can contact us via phone, text, or email.

We understand that unexpected situations happen, and our goal is to help you get on your way as quickly as possible. If a spare tractor is available, we will dispatch it to your location. Otherwise, we will redirect a nearby crew to assist you and then have them return to their original route.

Please note: This service is subject to crew availability and is for one-time urgent situations that fall outside our standard service schedule. We will do our best to assist you as soon as we can.

 


12. Discounts

We are pleased to offer the following discounts to our valued customers:

Winter welcome Discount: Sign up before October 10, 2025, and receive a 12% discount on all regular services.

Referral Discount: When you sign up for our services, you'll receive a unique referral code in your welcome email. If a new customer uses your code when registering for service by December 1, 2025, both you and the referred customer will benefit—you’ll receive a 5% discount, and they’ll enjoy a 3% discount.

For each additional customer who signs up using your referral code, you’ll earn progressive discounts as follows:

2nd referral: 3% discount
3rd referral: 2% discount
4th referral: 2% discount
5th referral: 1% discount

You can earn referral discounts for up to five customers.

Note: The maximum total discount you can receive through referrals is 13%. This includes any discount you may have received when signing up using someone else's referral code. For example, if you received a 3% discount as a referred customer, you can earn up to an additional 10% by referring others.

*Please note that shared driveway services already have the referral discount applied into the price.

All applicable discounts will be applied to your second payment, which is due by January 1, 2026. You will receive an email one week before the due date, detailing the exact amount you need to pay after all discounts have been applied.
